We're looking for a dedicated Estate and Nature Recovery Manager to oversee the delivery of our efforts in environmental stewardship and estate management. This is an exciting opportunity to help manage a beautiful and diverse country estate and to be part of a genuinely progressive business attempting to address the challenges of biodiversity decline, climate change, and nature disconnection.

 

About Us:

As the business enters the next phase of growth with additional sites across the UK, we are looking for someone to oversee our two South West locations, Belmont Estate and Watercress Farm. The new Estate and Nature Recovery Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering this vision, overseeing diverse projects that include managing woodlands, livestock, and spearheading nature recovery initiatives. 

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the delivery of estate objectives, through effective management of the Estate and Garden teams and practical delivery of wide-ranging estate projects.
  • Manage a range of existing and proposed nature recovery projects alongside the coordination of ecological surveying and data collection. 
  • Develop an agriculture and livestock strategy in conjunction with the Director of Estates and Natural Capital.
  • Oversee a long term strategy for our ancient woodland focusing on care for ancient woods and specimen trees.
  • Manage and collaborate with teams to maximise productivity and efficiency of operations.
  • Engage with local communities to promote our values and initiatives.

We're seeking an individual with a deep passion for nature, agriculture, and sustainability. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives on the challenge of managing diverse projects, from woodlands to livestock and has a proven track record in environmental stewardship. The ideal candidate is likely to have a background in livestock and estate care including woodlands, as well as experience managing a small team. Personality wise, you'll be highly organised, pragmatic, results focused but most importantly you'll reflect Belmont's values of nature, climate and community.

Interview Stage
  • We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, with initial recruitment ongoing for approximately 4 weeks. We will be interviewing candidates throughout the application process and will shorten this if the right candidate appears early in the process.
  • We will begin with an introductory phone call before conducting interviews in person at our Belmont Estate Office. 
  • Candidates selected for interviews will go through 2 to 3 stage interviews depending on the quantity of applications.
