Outdoor Education Lead

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Outdoor Education Lead to join our team. Belmont is a beautiful, regenerative estate just outside of Bristol with an education programme situated in our rewilding project. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Belmont's outdoor education programs for various groups, ranging from children to adults. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring and passionate educator who should be able to demonstrate deep knowledge of outdoor education principles, including risk management, experiential learning, and outdoor skills. This is a fixed term post to cover maternity leave until approximately the end of September 2024 however, there are likely to be permanent roles available at the end of your contract. About the Role

The role of Outdoor Education Lead has responsibility for planning, implementing, delivering and monitoring our Education Programme. Our mission is to enable barrier-free access to nature connection for all. Through our varied education programme, we offer inspirational guided visits to a whole range of demographics in Bristol and surrounding areas: from toddlers to adults, from schools to charities. Our holistically focused nature connection sessions seek to empower children, young people and adults – building on their knowledge and skills and enhancing their wellbeing. We hope that by integrating our holistic and organic approach to nature-based learning with person-centred nature connection activities, we will inspire visitors to become guardians of our natural world and restore the connection to nature.

Job Details and Benefits

  1. Part-time, 3 days per week – currently Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
  2. The standard working hours at Belmont are 08.00 to 17.00. Due to the nature of the role some flexibility will be required, appreciated, and reciprocated
  3. Salary | £37,000 FTE (£22,200 for 3 days per week)
  4. Application Deadline | 30th June 2023
  5. Start Date | ASAP
  6. 25 days paid leave & bank holidays (pro rata)
  7. The Estate Office is located on the edge of our historic woodland, 10 minutes from Bristol and offers a rare and unique working environment.
  8. Our education programme is located at Watercress Farm, our 100+ acre rewilding project, across the road from the main estate.
  9. While attendance in the office will be the norm, there is also scope for some working from home in this role
